INSURANCE OF OVERLAND TRANSPORT
Who can be an insurer?
Insurers can be legally competent individuals, business entities or legal entities who: own a transport facility on the grounds of the property right; acquired a transport facility on credit or on leasing; were leased out a transport facility; manage a transport facility on legal grounds.
Who can be insured?
drivers; passengers. temporary disability as a consequence of an accident; receiving an injury by the insured in a motor vehicle accident when his/her disability was established; perishing or death of the insured as a consequence of an accident. Insurance systems
lump-sum insurance system – the amount of insurance is determined for all passengers and the driver of the transport facility with the limit of indemnity established for each injured person; insurance based on the seat system - the amount of insurance is determined separately for each seat of a passenger and/or the driver. What should be done in case of occurrence of loss that may be admitted as such?Promptly inform the insurance company on the occurrence of loss and follow the guidelines received from it. It should be remembered that indemnification of damage caused to the property of the injured persons shall in all cases involve reduction of the insurance indemnity for the amount of franchise that equals to 510.00 UAH; franchise deductible for the indemnification of damage caused to life and/or health of the injured persons is not applicable. The insurer shall independently pay the franchise amount as specified in the insurance contract; the insurer’s liability limit is a sum of money, within which limits the insurer will be obliged to effect payment of the insurance indemnity pursuant to the terms and conditions of the insurance contract.
